If you want your boxer to be a part of your family who follows your house rules and respects your things instead of a big mess maker that destroys everything in sight and chews on all of your belongings, then you must go through dog training with your boxer. You can?t expect an untrained boxer dog to understand what you expect of him.To your boxer dog, your new expensive shoes look like the perfect chew toys that he can play with. As a dog owner, you are responsible for training your boxer dog so he knows what he can play with and what he isn?t allowed to chew on. So when you get home from a long day at work to find your living room ripped up to shreds by your beloved boxer, punishing him won?t help in any cheap prom dresses anyway. When you try to discipline a boxer without training him first, he will be confused to why you are punishing him and most likely will resent you for it, which can lead to worse behavior and more problems down the line.So if training your boxer solves all the problems why do many boxer dog owners don?t even try to train their dogs?Well as a matter of fact, most dog owners do try but are not sure of what to do. You have to understand how a boxer dogs mind works before you can begin training. What usually happens is the dog owner applies some of the tips he or she read in a book or a magazine to their training and once they see that it doesn?t apply to their boxer they give up on training all together.
